Gaskell Garden Project present Freedom Matters

TVBabies hosted the workshop corner at the Gaskell Garden Project's Freedom Matters event at a secret squatted space in central Manchester. The purpose of the event was to raise money for refugees and asylum seekers. Over the night £600 was raised. We ran a recycled Jellyfish workshop which ended in an installation of the participants work, as well as a headdress making workshop. The event also included a live music, spoken word, an art exhibition and dj's.

The Gaskell Garden Project is based in Manchester, and started out in 2014 as a growing group of friends, which included refugees & asylum seekers as well as UK citizens, who gardened together in the tradition of permaculture, sold surplus produce and used the money raised to further the welfare of our refugee & asylum seeker friends.
