TV Babies created two pieces for this show; motherlode by Jenny Hanns, Freya Wysocki and Charlotte Simmons. Inspired by keeping up with Keeping up with the Kardashians, the protagonist goes on an anxiety infused date with a cute guy she meets at the gym. This is rein-acted by our very own characters from Sims 4 digitally placed into our reality that is seen through the screen of Google Maps. This film questions our relationship with technology and how it can influence our behaviour, as well as reflecting on our free will as humans and how much of our lives are determined.
The live narration mirrors the style of filming in Keeping Up With the Kardashians, with her commenting and analysing the actions of the characters. It also acts as translation to the Simlish language that the Sims are speaking in.
This film is inspired by modern date culture and how millennials have reinvented dating into forms such as tinder, which avoid basic human interaction and is a relatable topic for everyone.
